of New Haven, Connecticut studies Journalism/English at UConn. Ken is also a Bi-weekly columnist for the "Daily Campus," UConn's student newspaper and has been for the past year and a half.Ken says, "I write mostly humor commentary because I feel regular news is played out too much. I find music a source of inspiration for writing and have plans to write for a magazine someday, but would also like to write songs, and screenplays if fortune were to be kind." Ken Morico's personal philosophy; "Believing in yourself. The only person who can change your life is you. You can't wait for things to happen. I don't have many dislikes, but I guess rejection letters would have to be at the top." Samples of Ken Morico's work, the poems, The Bus Stop and 12:17 AM.

The Bus Stop .......©1998, Ken Morico
Those cold days when cocoa
Makes you colder and the
Tingling in your feet lets
You know you are very
Much dead somewhere
You find strength like
A boy without a father.Your layers of clothes
Are like badges of merit,
You have no rank a
Dishonorably-discharged degenerate:
Figment of our imagination.
We keep you on the side,
Because the spotlight shines best on us.You are on the inside of
A tinted window.
We don't look in, because
We know who's in costume.
Our arrogance, your
Humbleness, reflect poorly
Like a plexi-glass window at a bus stop.
12:17 A.M. .......©1998, Ken Morico
At 12:17 a.m. I am writing
At 12:17 a.m. you are confused
At 12:17 a.m. she is confiding
At 12:17 a.m. we feel usedI face a block at this time
You say it moves in my mind
She says we need more rock to climb
We all see my sight is in hindI want resolve to my deeds
You want in our lives an armistice
She needs a life without heeds
We need to see through this mistI and she can circumvent rooms
Without walls cannot contain
That which looms
In our hearts which love does maintain
